Ace Computer Camp

Last summer (2000) I worked at ACE Computer Camp in Tempe and Tucson. (For more info on ACE, click here)
For 7 weeks I taught kids C++ and HTML, and occasionaly BASIC. Unfortunately, I was so busy that I took very few pictures. However, here are a few from Week 3 (in Tempe).

During the last couple of weeks, the game Star Trek: Armada was very popular. We had some great multiplayer games. Here are a few screenshots from exciting moments.

All of these ships are in the process of going through a borg transwarp gate to thoroughly pummel Steven (one of the Counselors-in-training). We were playing teams in this game, which is why there are Borg, Klingons, and Romulans working together.

This is one of our great knock-down, drag-out fights. My group had brought a huge fleet over to Steven's base (again!). In just a few minutes, there was nothing left but some clouds of dust.

Steven gets his revenge! The Klingons have an awsome special weapon, a ship called the Phoenix. It creates a spacial rift that destroys everything in the radius. Needless to say, this is a suicide mission.
